The Daf is part of Remo's Global Frame drums and Tambourines, GFT. Remo draws the inspiration to create the Daf drum from the Classical Sufi music traditions found in Iran, Persia and Master Iranian drummer, Pejman Hadadi. Remo's Daf drum is constructed with the beautiful Skyndeep graphic drumhead that is pre-tuned on a twenty-one inch lightweight drumshell. Remo's Daf drum produces rich Tek tones and full Bass tones while also featuring hundreds of chrome metal rings attached on the inner wall of the shell in interlocked sets of four rings. These chrome metal rings produce a unique percussive sound when shaken and a buzz or snare like sound when touching the drumhead. Remo Daf features a padded thumb notch cutout that adds to the playing comfort.
